We feel fortunate to have received reflections from our patients about how Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers have helped them. Here are some of our favorites:

I had an ulcer on by big toe that wouldn’t go away for a little over a year. Dr. Mehl was able to heal the ulcer and saved my big toe. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel good about being there. Dr. Mehl is an excellent doctor and I enjoy going to Step Lively because I know I am receiving the best care possible. I highly recommend Step Lively to anyone needing care for their feet.

I inherited extreme curving of the bone in my big toe that would eventually lead to bunions in both feet. Thanks to Dr. Richard Weiner, my bone is now positioned correctly so that I never have to endure the pain of bunions. I recommend Step Lively for the friendly environment and employees as well as the terrific doctors.

This letter is being written for several reasons of course, to thank you for your professional (yet personal) care and attitude. Also, your staff was very pleasant and skilled at their various tasks. As we left your office, we realized how great we felt. I (we) am sure it was partly due to our good experience. However, that good experience has remained with both of us even to this day. We didn’t realize what good (excellent) foot care can do to make your life better & happier. Thank you all.

From the first contact with Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers, I knew that I was going to be in "good hands" as they had a “patient comes first attitude". Dr. Pearlman spent quality time learning about my life style, examining my foot and ankle, and listening to my hiking and jogging time line wish list. Guess what? Step Lively came through with flying colors! Dr. Pearlman and the SLFAC staff teamed together to walk the extra mile for me. The high quality of caring, compassion, and most importantly encouragement, gave me the added incentive to follow Dr. Pearlman's guidelines for resuming my athletic activities. Being at a stand still when you are athletic can be very discouraging but Dr. Pearlman would take the time to patiently reiterate and make sure that I clearly understood the importance of following his treatment plan. He always had the time and energy to answer my questions. Without any doubt, his advice and treatment plan worked perfectly. The Step Lively Staff was there for me 100%, providing me with the most important fundamentals in foot care: knowing and understanding my related foot issues, consistently caring, communicating, and encouraging me along the road to recovery.

For over a year I had diabetic sores on the bottom of my feet. I received treatment from a different podiatrist before seeing Dr. Mehl and he was able to fix their mistake. Prior to my surgery Dr. Mehl explained everything to me in great detail and made sure I understood the entire process. The medical assistants and office staff were great as well. They were always very helpful and made my experience very pleasant.

I was discharged from the Navy with an honorable medical discharge when I contracted diabetes. I didn’t start taking it seriously until I developed ulcers on my toes and swelling in my feet. I was spending so much time on my feet at work that both my feet developed charcote and my arches collapsed. The VA doctors were keeping my blood sugar under control, but couldn’t do anything to help my feet. I was referred to Dr. Richard Weiner, who did a thorough examination and looked at my overall physical condition. His aggressive strategy of limb salvaging has allowed me to keep all but one toe and I’m still walking! I have friends with diabetes and have watched them progressively lose first toes, then half their foot, then the whole foot. Without Dr. Weiner and his staff I would be doing the same thing. Dr. Weiner does an outstanding job of considering a patient’s overall health and well-being in his approach to treating foot problems. His staff is also outstanding and gives you a feeling of being part of a team dedicated to getting you well.

Step Lively is a "patient comes first" practice. Along with demonstrating their high level of foot care, the wonderful and knowledgeable doctors and staff exemplify a level of excellence through the caring and compassion shown to their patients!

For 20 years I suffered from having open sores on the bottom of my feet. I wasn’t able to work on my feet or drive very long which made things difficult for me. Dr. Mehl was able to heal the infection and make it so I could walk without pain. He and the ladies in the office cared about me and worked with me to get my health back to where it is supposed to be. The people at Step Lively are caring, friendly, and I am glad I chose them for my care.

In 2016 I developed an ulcer on my foot. The ulcer made it very hard for me to walk for several months and interfered with my daily activities. Upon visiting Step Lively I found the staff to be very nice and Dr. Mehl’s wonderful bedside manner was extremely refreshing. He walked me through every treatment option and made sure I made the best decisions for me. After receiving treatment I am back to living life to the fullest. I am grateful to Dr. Mehl and his staff for everything they have done for me.

I first came to Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers complaining of foot pain and was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. The pain had affected the way I walked and my posture. I noticed my stride was odd and not like it typically was. I had an insert made at a different practice but, had no relief from my pain. I came back to Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers and Dr. Weiner made me a new and different type of orthotic. The relief I feel is amazing. I now have better body alignment. The pain in my knees and hips is almost completely gone and my foot pain is 100% better. I notice more improvement almost daily. Dr. Weiner listened to my concerns and worked with me to find a solution to my pain.

I was referred to Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers by my family physician. I was x-rayed at my family physician’s office and nothing on the x-ray revealed any issues with my feet. I knew something was not right though. So, I persisted and my family physician recommend I see Dr. Weiner. When I was x-rayed at Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers the x-rays revealed three broken bones. Although scared, I was relieved that the pain was not all in my head. The staff and doctors of Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers treated me with compassion and heart like I have not received with any other practice. My concerns mattered to Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers and they were considerate to my emotions and physical needs. I continue to see the doctors of Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers for other podiatry issues I have. I would highly recommend Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers to everyone I know.

I was misdiagnosed at another practice at the beginning of January. I returned to my family physician frustrated and was then referred to Step Lively Foot and Ankle Centers for a second opinion. From the moment I walked through the front door I knew I was in the right place for the type of treatment and help I needed. I am not just a number with Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers, rather, I am treated like a family member. Before I came to this practice I was missing work and missing out of the activities I used to enjoy. Now, I am back to work and able to enjoy the activities I was missing out on with my friends and family. I am so glad Dr. Pearlman walked away from being a pharmacist and became a podiatrist. It would have been a great loss for the medical community if Dr. Pearlman had not gone into podiatry.

I was unable to stand, walk or run for periods longer than 30 minutes due to severe pain in my ankles. The resulting pain would last for days afterwards. I’m only 34 and couldn’t enjoy a lot of outdoor activities, including sports. I couldn’t even walk to parks or shop in the mall. I suffered from this pain since I was 14 or 15 years old. Since being treated by Dr. Holmes, I’m able to be more active on my feet without having to worry about being in pain for days – I get more exercise and I am more active! Most other practices were unfamiliar with my condition and so prescribed ineffective remedies (inserts, foot massages, wax). The doctors at Step Lively understand a lot more of the mechanics concerning walking and standing – they have more experience with a range of issues.

I suffered from pain in my left foot, including a hammer toe, before I came to Step Lively Foot & Ankle Centers. For 13 years, the pain made it hard to run, jump or be on my feet for work. Dr. Cheryl Weiner and the staff at Step Lively have drastically changed my life. My pain is manageable now and when something arises, Dr. Weiner is always willing to try something different. I am very lucky and blessed to have a good specialist who helps out with my care. Step Lively is at the top of the list.

I came to Dr. Cheryl Weiner because my left foot was broken, and I was in great pain! The treatment I received was excellent. At Step Lively, the doctors are highly qualified and wonderful, and so is the staff. I will recommend them to anyone needing foot or ankle care.

I had suffered a broken fifth metatarsal and couldn’t walk or climb stairs before I came to see Dr. Pearlman. I had an excellent procedure and then continued to have great service and treatment throughout the process. I know that I am almost 100% and will soon be able to go back to my life before the injury. Step Lively has an incredibly friendly staff and professional environment where people truly care about making you healthy again.

I had plantar fasciitis in both feet. I was in pain from the second I stepped out of bed until the end of the night. I hurt so bad that I dreaded every day normal activities like grocery shopping and cooking dinner. Since being treated by Dr. Pearlman at Step Lively, I am no longer in pain at all. I can wear any kind of shoe. Both surgeries changed my life. I feel like the entire office staff cares about me on a personal level. Everyone is so nice and they try so hard to help in any way they can.

I had a sore ankle. I kept twisting it – it was always swollen and never healed completely. I couldn’t wear heels, sit cross-legged or run properly. It was always sore. After my treatment from Dr. Holmes, I am able to do more activities without injury. The staff at Step Lively is very friendly – this center will fix your issue with a smile!
