Richard D. Weiner, DPM

Board-Certified: American Board of Podiatric Surgery

Richard D. Weiner, DPM“My whole life has revolved around medicine. I have one uncle who is a dentist, another who is a pathologist and a cousin who is a vascular surgeon. My mother is an RN and my father was the podiatrist responsible for starting this practice in 1958. My older brother is a pediatric cardiologist, but my sister, Cheryl, and I have followed in Dad’s footsteps.

“During high school, I was active in wrestling, tennis and track. I became interested in the sports medicine component of podiatry when I started having sports-related foot injuries. My father treated me, which I thought was cool.

“Today I have the privilege of traveling around the world giving lectures and educating others on advances in podiatry. I cover a variety of interesting topics. However, the most innovative and inspiring subject is the use of frames – external fixation devices used to help repair bone damage caused mainly by diabetes.”

Dr. Weiner has six children. In his limited free time, he is an avid motorcycle enthusiast and devoted father.
